Anita Parrondo, PT, DPT, LMT, is a Physical Therapist and Massage Therapist, with a focus on treating chronic pain, mobility issues, and performance enhancement, even if the performance desired is to simply get on and off the floor safely and pain free.
Anita’s interests and studies have taken her around the world, and include Chinese and Thai medicine and philosophy, spinal manipulation, visceral manipulation, neural mobilization, myofascial release, movement assessment and diagnosis, and mobility training. It is this diversity that enables her to diagnose and treat traditional orthopedic issues, as well as complex chronic pain conditions.
Her philosophy is simple but effective: First improve the health of the soft tissues (muscles, tendons, fascia, nerves, lymphatics), then facilitate effective movement patterns.
Anita received her degrees from the New York University Doctor of Physical Therapy program, and the Swedish Institute College of Health Sciences in New York City. Prior to moving to the Lehigh Valley in 2012, Anita owned and operated a Physical Therapy and Bodywork practice in Manhattan, treating professional athletes, actors and musicians, and business professionals, and conducting workshops for healthcare professionals. She has over 26 years in the healthcare and fitness industry. In addition to her private practice, Anita is a professor of anatomy and physiology at Lehigh Carbon Community College and is currently publishing books on health and fitness on her website.
Anita is an avid traveller, reader, a passionate teacher, and a lifelong learner. She is a fitness enthusiast, loves to be near the ocean, and can be seen walking her naughty bulldog Charlie around her neighborhood in Emmaus, PA.
